I’m starting to think January is the BEST time to visit to Seattle. Maybe… because I’m from Colorado so the cold doesn’t bother me that much, but also it was Cheap, Cheap, Cheap!!
We got our round trip flights for under $300 and a little Air Bnb for $97 a night. What a deal!
Going to walk you through our 3 day itinerary, this is the second time we have been to Seattle, so I have TONS of recommendations!
DAY 1 We arrived in Seattle super early this time round, so breakfast and good bloodies were a must!
5 Spot is the Spot! Old school diner vibe, great food and great service. They had 4 different types of bloodies (speaking my language) and the Benny’s were insane!!!
I got the smoked salmon with the home fries, get the home fries, seriously I have never seen potatoes done in this way, I think they were baked whole red potatoes then smashed just to crack them open then fried!!!! YUM!!!
Now since you’re in a food coma, it’s time for an afternoon pick me up at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. I’m a huge Starbucks fan and last time we were here we hit up the original Starbucks. This time around we wanted to branch out. I’ve heard crazy things about the roastery and it definitely lived up to its expectations. It’s basically a toy store but with coffee! It’s got everything, merchandise, coffee being brewed in various different ways, they even do coffee flights (if your really into it) Amazing small bites, and COCKTAILS!! Yes, I said Starbucks cocktails. They also serve beer and wine. Check it out!
Next, we walked around a lot and popped into various bars. If you’re hungry check out Elysian Brewing CO. A Local brewery, they have amazing beer! My favorite is their pumpkin beers which unfortunately isn’t on tap in January but, still a great spot to check out.
After Elysian we headed back to our Airbnb to rest up and get ready for a night out with our friends.
First spot they took us to was Canon, I don’t have any great pics because it’s dark in there. But, if you don’t listen to anything I recommend on this whole trip this is the one spot im begging you to go to!
This bar has been voted “one of the most beautiful bars in Seattle” “world's best cocktail menu” and “best bathroom in seattle”
Beautiful speakeasy vibe, bar all the way to the ceiling, just gorgeous. Get there early, this place is ALWAYS busy. We didn’t try any food, but the cocktails are like something I have never seen before. Each drink comes in it’s own unique glass and they are just incredible. My favorite is Campfire in Georgia. We went there twice it was so fun!!
Next up dinner at The Carlile Room. Our very good friends took us here, and it was nothing short of spectacular, late night vibe, great tunes, and the FOOD!
Start with the Giant Rainbow Plate its all vegan/vegetarian and will not disappoint, even you carnivores will love it! Trust!
Day 2 It’s not a Seattle trip unless you visit Pikes Place Market. Be warned if going in January bundle up, we were freezing! Stop for some coffee and donut holes at one of the stands and you’ll forget about being cold. So many amazing shops to see, some are inside so you can warm up, our favorite are the magic store and the comic store!
For lunch the perfect spot to go to warm up is Menya Musashi, a local recommended it. Hands down the best ramen I have ever had, and they have veggie broth too. Sit at the bar top to watch all the magic happen.
Back home to get rest and get ready for dinner, how can one eat so much food, I have no idea.
Sushi Night! First we stopped at Canon again for drinks because it’s that good. Then Shiro’s for dinner, highly recommended. Make a reservation, it’s a pretty small little joint and the sushi was outstanding!
Day 3
Oddfellows for breakfast, cute hipster farmhouse cafe. Mimosas come in a 1920’s style flute. Simple menu, simple flavors, and delicious. Perfect when nursing a hangover. Try the baked eggs.
Next, we just walk around stopping into cool looking bars or shops along the way. Seatown Bar is a great spot near the water and the market. We go every time! Amazing clam chowder too. Also Steelhead Diner is a must they have these crab and sweet potato tater tots that you just have to try.
Lunch time calls for pizza! Best place for pizza in Seattle is Serious Pie. Seriously! They let their dough rise completely so it leaves a thin, crunchy, delicious crust and doesn’t bloat you up! So that means more pizza, we crushed 3 pizzas. So good I didn’t get a before picture.
After lunch we met up with our friends again and hit a couple more cool spots! Radiator Whiskey was a super busy place with killer cocktails! Also, check out the Amazon Spheres they are pretty neat, and they have a speakeasy bar underneath called the Deep Dive it’s first come first serve, get there early-ish.
Dinner time at the famous Pink Door again reservations are a must. This place is fine dining italian, with an eclectic vibe, this place is huge and loud in a good way. Our waiter was absolutely incredible I think his name was Stephen? We will definitely be back, this amazing place is located in a little alley just look for the pink door.
Lastly, we ended our trip at Needle & Thread a speakeasy (are you finding a theme here) make a reservation then you’ll walk into a restaurant and in the back there is an old phone booth, pick up the phone when its your time and they’ll escort you in.
Things are done differently here, they don’t have a cocktail menu. Your waiter will ask you some questions about what you like and your favorite flavor profiles, then they will whip up something fun made just for you! Great spot to end another amazing trip. We love you Seattle xo, Kristin
