Pregnancy The First Trimester

Updated: Oct 6, 2021

So excited for our bundle of joy, here is a dive into my first trimester.

The hubs and I have been trying since Christmas took us about 4 months to get pregnant, in April we knew right away since we have been trying. I took a test the day I was supposed to start my period and BAM! Positive pregnancy test. We are over the moon excited!

The first few weeks really weren’t that bad the only changes I noticed we’re breast tenderness. Fast track a few weeks and here came the nausea, let me tell you it was rough! I just felt like I was hung over for two months, feeling sick no matter what I ate and ZERO motivation to do anything, getting through the work day was tough stuff. Although I can’t complain too much I never actually threw up just a steady feeling of car sickness is the best way to describe it. Just take it easy mama you’re almost to the second trimester which is leaps and bounds better than the first.

We are pretty avid Orange Theory Fitness goers, I didn’t stop attending class but I definitely had to hold back a lot. Getting your heart rate up for too long and feeling overheated is not good. If you’re still craving cardio just take it easy, take more breaks than normal. Don’t be hard on yourself any exercise while pregnant is great exercise. Other great exercises to try that are easier on the body are Yoga, Pilates, and Spin. When it came to my diet my healthy choices took a back seat, all that sounded good was bland carbs such as saltines, toast, and cold cereal. Trying to eat anything with spice or high sugar made me feel worse, just listen to your body. I didn’t really crave anything too weird, a lot of things I haven’t eaten in a while sounded good like fish sticks, popsicles, and I really wanted ice cream but I couldn’t eat it. To sum up just take it slow, eat healthy when you can, listen to your body and enjoy every second. WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!
